Plant One Sadaqah Jariyah
“When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three: recurring charity, or knowledge by which people benefit, or a pious child who prays for him.”
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sahih Muslim 1631
Most giving reaches one of those three. Muslim Parenting Lab sits inside all three at once.
- Ongoing charity. What you give builds something that stays built. It is published once and then read for years, free the whole time.
- Beneficial knowledge. What it builds is knowledge. And knowledge is the one thing that is not used up when somebody takes it.
- A righteous child. This is the one that comes back to you directly, if you are raising one yourself. Everything here is written for the first five years, because that is when the foundation is laid and when almost nothing yet has to be undone.
All amounts in US dollars (USD)
Each yearly amount works out cheaper than giving the same support monthly.

Give It in Someone’s Name
If your mother or your father has passed, this is one of the few things you can still send them.
A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “My mother died suddenly, and I think that if she could speak, she would have given in charity. May I give in charity on her behalf?” He said, “Yes. Give in charity on her behalf.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 2760
He did not say it might reach her. He said give.
The people who taught you how to parent, now funding the teaching of other parents.
You can give on behalf of a parent, a child you lost, or someone still living. Add the name above and we will record it, quietly and nowhere public.
What Your Sadaqah Is Actually Doing
A parent reads an article here about why their two-year-old melts down at bedtime.
The Science. The part of the brain that manages big feelings is years from being built. The screaming is not defiance, and it cannot be reasoned away.
The Sunnah. The same article gives them the du’a the Prophet ﷺ said before sleeping, Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya, and shows them how to make it the last thing that happens every night.
So the parent stops arguing. They lower the lights and say the du’a with their child, the same words in the same calm voice. Bedtime finally has an ending the child can feel coming.
The meltdowns ease. That was the science.
But that child is thirty-four now, and still says those words before he sleeps. He has never once wondered where they came from. He taught them to his own children, and they are teaching them to theirs. That was the Sunnah.
You funded the article the parent read.
That is why the two are never in separate articles here. The science gets a parent through tonight. The du’a is still going when everyone in this story is gone.
Why Knowledge Keeps Going
Feed someone who is hungry and you have fed them, and Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala rewards you for it generously.
Teach a parent something true, and they use it on Monday. Again next Ramadan. Again with their second child. Then they say it to their sister, and their sister says it to a friend.
Same amount given. Completely different lifespan.
That is why the Prophet ﷺ named beneficial knowledge separately.
Why Monthly or Yearly
Most good intentions do not die of insincerity. They die of forgetfulness.
You mean to give. Then the month gets away from you. Then the year does.
A standing amount takes you out of the equation. It runs while you are asleep and while you are at work. It keeps running through the months when you are struggling and not thinking about any of this at all.
And it runs through every night of Ramadan, including the one better than a thousand months, whether or not you remembered it was coming.
“The most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant, even if it were little.”
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sahih al-Bukhari 6464
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my support zakat-eligible?
We would rather you gave this as sadaqah than as zakat.
Scholars differ on whether zakat may fund da’wah and Islamic education. It turns on how wide fi sabeelillah is in Surah at-Tawbah 9:60. Some contemporary scholars include teaching and calling people to Allah within it. Classically, the four schools held that zakat must pass into the ownership of an eligible poor person, which a publishing project cannot satisfy.
We are not going to settle that for you, and we would not want your zakat left unfulfilled on our account. If you would like to read the discussion itself: Can zakah be used for da’wah purposes? on Islam Question and Answer.
Sadaqah carries none of those conditions. That is what this page is for.
Can I stop monthly or yearly support whenever I want?
Yes. It takes one click, and you do not owe anyone an explanation. Give what you can while you can.
Use the Sign in button at the top right of this page. Enter the email you gave at checkout and Stripe sends you a secure link. That link opens your portal, where you can update your card or stop your support.
If anything goes wrong, email info@growdeen.com and we will stop it for you.
Can I get a tax receipt?
Not at the moment, and we would rather say so plainly than have you find out at tax time.
GrowDeen Education is not a registered charity, so we cannot issue tax or deductible donation receipts. What you give here is a gift rather than a write-off. You will get a payment confirmation from Stripe for your own records, and that is all we can offer.
If a receipt is the deciding factor for you, please give to a registered charity instead, with our du’as. That is a better outcome than giving here and being disappointed later. If this was always sadaqah, nothing changes. And if our status ever changes, we will say so right here.
How do I reach you?
Email info@growdeen.com. That is the one place we watch, so it is the fastest way to reach a person rather than a queue.
Write to us about anything — a payment that looks wrong, a receipt you need, stopping your support, or just to tell us what you would like us to write about next. A real person reads every message.
One More Thing
You read this far, so something in it landed.
That feeling has a name. It is the beginning of a niyyah. And the one consistent thing about intentions is that they cool. You are not insincere. The next notification simply arrives.
So do it while it is warm. It takes ninety seconds, and then it keeps going.
